Pokud jste nadšeni nedávno představeným iPhonem od Applu a nemůžete se dočkat až se tahle novinka dostane na trh, může vám čekání zpříjemnit freeware launcher iPhony od SimToGo, který přináší grafické prostředí iPhonu do PDA a smartphonů s Palm OS.

Předem je třeba zdůraznit, že iPhony v žádném případě nemá být konkurencí pro Zlauncher a jemu podobné. Sám autor zdůrazňuje, že to je především aplikace pro radost, s níž budete moci ohromit své okolí. Vytyčené cíle plní dokonale – na Treu 650 vypadá vážně skvěle a funguje bez zaváhání. K dispozici je celkem dvanáct iPhonovských ikon, k nimž lze přiřadit libovolnou aplikaci. Ovládání je přizpůsobeno D-padu, takže není třeba lovit stylus ani špinit displej prsty. To sice koncepci iPhonu moc neodpovídá, ale je to praktické. Přiřazování aplikací jednotlivým ikonám je velice přímočaré a jako jediný nedostatek bych zde viděl jejich poněkud nepřehledné názvy (aplikace pro SMS = Nexter, kamera = Capture_Loader-CpLo etc.). Současná verze 0.2 podporuje pouze rozlišení 320x320, ale už příští týden by se měla objevit nová verze s podporou 320x480. iPhony v Palmu zabere pouhých 160 KB a je zdarma. Osobně tenhle výstřelek považuji za velice povedený a tak trochu mi připomíná nápaditou freeware aplikaci WindowsPE for Palm OS.
